Epidural steroid injection

Steroids are anti-inflammatory and are frequently used to treat pain arising from spinal nerves.  There are different techniques for introducing steroids into the spinal canal and their use depends on the underlying pathology.

Interlaminar steroid injection is performed from the back of the spinal canal.

A transforaminal steroid injection is performed from the side of the spine.

A caudal epidural injection is performed at the very bottom of the spinal canal.
